Benefits of Starch By-Products
A high percentage of the raw material used in the starch industry is leaving the factory not as core product but rather as a by-product such as Corn Gluten Meal, Corn Gluten Feed, Wheat Feed or other protein rich, fibrous material used in the animal feed industry.
Corn Fiber and Steeping Liquid (CSL) also called Corn Gluten Feed is a protein rich by-product of the corn starch industry which is dried and often milled and pelletized to produce high added value animal feed.
Wheat Feed, which is wheat bran syrup (pentosane and B-Starch) is another example of an value add byproduct, this time following the wheat starch production. Also, this product is dried and pelletized, and that produces a high quality animal feed pellet.
