Pulp and Paper

The Pulp and Paper industry is using Bark or Wood Chips as the main energy source to produce steam in their biomass boilers.

Depending on the location of the Paper Mill, the moisture content of the available Wood Chips or Bark is over 60%, which decreased the heat value of the biomass and in consequent limits the capacity of the boiler.

In addition, wet fuel increased the risk of fouling of the boiler tubes which can further decrease of capacity of the steam boiler.

One of the solution to manage this problem or in some case even to increase the capacity of an existing installation would be  to  pre-dry  the  Bark  and  Wood Chips on a  belt  dryer  using the available waste on site (hot  waters, steam or condensates) to dry the fuel.
